Subject: Neuse River Basin Riparian Buffer Rules

On September 1 , 1999, 1 met with you at the subject property to conduct a site visit for the
project is referenced by the Raleigh Regional Office as NBRRO 99-234. At your request, an
evaluation was performed to determine if the three features present (actually two streams) on
this tract would require compliance with the Neuse River Basin: Nutrient Sensitive Waters
Management Strategy; Protection and Maintenance of Existing Riparian Areas, Administrative
Code T15A:02B.0233 (NCAC 0233).
It was determined as a result of the site visit that there are two features present on this
property that are at least intermittent streams and therefore subject to the current Neuse River
Basin Riparian Rules. The areas of the features that require riparian buffer protection are
approximately located on the attached map.
This letter addresses only those issues involving the riparian area. For information relative to
the Wetlands 401/404 issues, please contact Mr. John Dorney at 919-733-1786. Thank you
