Sullins, Director Division of Water Quality August 8, 2008 DWQ Project # 06-1747, Ver. 2 Durham County CERTIFIED MAIL: RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED Mr. Jake Austin Highland Park Properties, LLC 400 Riverwood Drive Clayton, NC 27520 Subject Property: Highland Park Subdivision Crooked Creek [030401, 27-2-18, WSIV, NSW] REQUEST FOR MORE INFORMATION Dear Mr. Austin: On July 22, 2008, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your application dated July 21, 2008, to fill or otherwise impact 0.34 acres of 404/wetland, 67 linear feet of perennial stream, 39 linear feet of intermittent stream and 5,856 square feet of Zone 1 Neuse River basin protected riparian buffers and 27,182 square feet of Zone 2 Neuse River basin protected riparian buffers to construct a residential development at the site. The DWQ has determined that your application was incomplete and/or provided inaccurate information as discussed below. The DWQ will require additional information in order to process your application to impact protected wetlands and/or streams on the subject property. Therefore, unless we receive five copies of the additional information requested below, we will place this project on hold as incomplete until we receive this additional information. If we do not receive the requested information, your project will be formally returned as incomplete. Please provide the following information so that we may continue to review your project. Additional Information Requested: To prevent erosion immediately downgrade of the plunge pools, please provide an apron of permanent soil reinforced matting (PSRM) downgrade of the plunge pools associated with the pipe outlets. You may refer to Figures 8-4 and 8-5 on page 8-9 of the NC-DWQ Stormwater BMP Manual for a typical preformed scour hole layout and components which include a PSRM flushing with the existing ground and tucked a minimum of 1.0 ft into the ground.
