Starkman<mrs@pnrlaw.com> CC: <Loretta.A.Beckwith@saw02.usace.Artny.mil> Hello, I am a concerned resident of Fairview Forest with regard to the new Cliffs community water and well projects. We need to have a public hearing asap so it can be publicly disclosed how we and other surrounding communities will be impacted by this issue of water supply and quality. When we relinquished our ridgetop (we really didn't have a choice) we as a community weren't informed that we might have a problem. We have daily concerns about running out of water due to the 3rd year of a serious drought. Thank you, Ellen Starkman No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG. A group of Fairview residents met re- cently at the Spring Mountain Commu- nity Center to discuss their concerns with the potential impact of this development in regard to wetlands, water quality, water supply, conservation and other environ- mental issues. Also in attendance was Jen- nifer Robertson of Wetland and Natural Resource Consultants who is liaison to Don NidreU of the The Cliffs Communl ties. Ms. Robertson was able to answer many questions and explained the process of obtaining the permit was a long one, often taking several years. All government depart rents, agencies and other groups involved with water, wildlife and/or other environmental areas that could be affected will be sent the notice of application and asked for their expert advice and recom- mendations. The USACE only acts as an in tennediary agent to work with The Cliffs on their complying with all regulatiarus and concerns set forth by these agencies. A permit will not be granted until all Issues have been resolved. Ms. Robertson took, away a list of stated concerns and ques- tions and will supply answers and dadfica- tion as soon as possible.
