I am forwarding an email from Bill Boyd, a resident of Alpine Mountain, Swannanoa. This
development is adjacent to the proposed Cliffs of High Carolina development.
Mr. Boyd has taken a picture of what appears to be a Carolina Northern Flying Squirrel (Galucomys
sabrinus coloratus). According to the attached U.S. Fish and Wildlife document, the Carolina
Northern Flying Squirrel is listed as an Endangered Species.
The proposed Cliffs at High Carolina development can be deleterious to the survival of the Carolina
Northern Flying Squirrel.
Mr. Boyd can be contacted at boydmiller(a,bellsouth.net.
Thanks,
Carmen Wagner

Subject: Re: Cliffs/ Ready to officially document.
The flying squirrel has visited our feeders each night this week around I I PM. Taking its picture is
difficult but here is the best I gotten so far. The picture was taken at our home which is immediately
adjacent to the Cliffs on the Swannanoa side.
