Subject: Bryant's Land Development Stream Crossing - NCWRC comments
Hi William,
I have reviewed the information sent to me about the Bryant's Land Development Stream Crossing project,
which is an after -the -fact permit application for a 50 -ft culvert placed on an unnamed tributary to Tantrough
Branch in Yancey County.
Due to concerns about the inability of the culvert to allow for aquatic organism passage, the applicant
proposes to build a boulder control structure to step the grade up and flood the culvert.
There are Rainbow Trout downstream of the project, and these activities should avoid the trout moratorium of
January 1 to April 15 in order to minimize impacts to trout spawning.
Thank you for the opportunity to review and comment on this project. Please contact me if you have any
questions about these comments or need further assistance.
