NOTICE OF A CITIZENS INFORMATIONAL WORKSHOP FOR THE PROPOSED
INSTALLATION OF NEW RAIL SIDING NORTH OF GREENVILLE
AND INSTALLATION OF A NEW RAIL CONNECTOR IN GREENVILLE
WBS No. 41910 & 41911 P-3309 AA & AB Pitt County
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will hold the above
Citizens Informational Workshop on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 between the hours of
5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Eppes Recreation Center
located at Thomas Foreman Park, 400 Nash Street, Greenville, 27834.
NCDOT representatives will be available in an informal setting to answer
questions and receive comments about both Rail projects. The opportunity to submit
written comments or questions will be provided. Interested citizens may attend at any
time during the above mentioned hours. Please note there will be no formal
presentation.
NCDOT proposes to install new railroad track siding north of Greenville
between Briley Road and Staton Mill Road to allow for the passing of trains. A new
connector rail is to be installed that will connect two crossing rail tracks near the
intersection of W. 14th Street and E. 14th Street in Greenville.

NCDOT will provide auxiliary aids and services under the Americans with
