Water Quality Certification 3886, for the Replacement of Bridge No.
410 on Clontz Long Road (SR 1611) over Grassy Branch in Union
County, North Carolina. State Project No. 17BP.10.R.67, Division 10.
Dear Ms. Amschler:
Please find enclosed the Pre-Construction Notification (PCN) form, Stormwater Management Plan,
permit drawings, and half-size roadway design plans for the subject project. The North Carolina
Department of Transportation (NCDOT) proposes to replace Bridge No. 410 over Grassy Branch
on Clontz Long Road (SR 1611) between SR 1640 and SR 1606 in Union County. The proposed
project consists of removing the structurally deficient bridge (Sufficiency Rating of 21.18) built in
1968 and replacing it with a triple barrel 10 x 6-foot Reinforced Concrete Box Culvert (RCBC).
The project length is approximately 0.097 miles.
