The South Carolina conservation community has stated that the golf course planned at the Cliffs at Mountain Park in South Carolina does not meet the conservation standards originally agreed to by The Cliffs. Furthermore the project will not protect the trout fishery and ecological integrity of the North Saluda as required by SC Department of Health and Environmental Control and the Army Corps of Engineers under the Clean Water Act. http://www.saveoursaluda.org/pressrelease.htm Unfortunately the Cliffs plan to develop 5,000 acres complete with a golf course was approved. http://www.thestate.com/golf/story/457858.html?RSS=sports 1 of 1 8/5/2008 9:36 AM
