Hi,
I want to offer my opinion and comments regarding The Cliffs application to "disturb" the watershed in
Fairview for over a mile of stream channel &/or wetlands. I hope you will take into account that this stream
&/or watershed has existed pretty much undisturbed for hundreds of years, it was in its present state &
location and was well evident throughout the time that the Cliffs considered and evaluated this property prior to
purchase, and the buyer/developer was aware of this stream as a consideration of the purchase. It is my
opinion that the stream &/or existing wetlands should continue undisturbed with sufficient setback boundaries
to insure as much as possible that the quality of the water and the existing ecosystems remain (minimally) at
their present levels throughout and after construction of the community. They are a valuable part of the
ecosystem of that larger area, as well as those systems downstream.
At the VERY least, I hope you will recognize the need for more public awareness of the implications and details
of this application, and recommend, or rather insist, on further public hearings on this sensitive topic. Your
decision will have a lasting effect on this ecosystem.
