Hi Cyndi,
I want to thank you again for your continued efforts to return my calls in
reference to the application of the Cliffs Communities to the USAGE and NCDWQ. I am
sorry we keep missing each other.
There are several groups that I am aware of who are seeking additional information
in the form of documents and determination records related to this application from
both the NCDWQ and USACE. While I feel that Swannanoa Pride might be a point of
contact for many people in Swannanoa, I know that the group in Fairview, under the
guidance of Francois Manovit would probably want it's own copy of documents in
regard to this issue. I also know of several large landholders and a subdivision
with land adjacent to the proposed Cliffs communities who have expressed concern
about the USACE NCDWQ application process. They have contacted our organization and
I will ask if they would be willing to allow SPCC to receive information from you
offices and share any documents that you might send.
The Swannanoa Pride Community Coaltion is a grassroots community organization that
seeks to bring residents of Swannanoa together to become actively involved in
shaping the future of our town, while honoring its unique history, heritage, and
character. The role of the Land Use Task Force is to encourage responsible
development by becoming a part of the planning process and working with developers.
We also want to educate and empower citizens to have a better understanding of land
development issues and access to the planning process. In this capacity
representatives of SPCC have held numerous meetings with officials from the Cliffs
to get information about their development plans and to ask questions on behalf of
Valley residents.
Thank you again for your attempts to establish contact. I will be sending you a
letter from Swannanoa Pride that outlines our concerns about the Cliff's
application for stream disturbance.
In the interim will you please send documents related to the 401 Water Quality
Certification to my home address ?
