I believe that a public hearing should be held to consider the application from the
Cliffs.
The Cliffs hold a majority of the watershed land of Fairview and thus gave a direct
effect on the quality and quantity of water use by surrounding communities.
Water quality is especially important to the small farms in the area, many of which
are certified organic.
I believe that we will be adversely affected by the stream impacts and disturbances
caused by building the golf course. Preservation buffers should apply to all stream
tributaries on the side of Spring Mt community.
Wetlands are the starting point of the spring system providing water to us residents
for many generations. A disturbance, such as the golf course, in addition to the
future tons of chemicals added to the golf course, will create a point of nu return
for the water quality of our area.
A public hearing is vital for us to be able to express our concerns and explore
solutions.
Bernie Segal, a resident of the Spring MT. community.
