They were preparing to turn the stream (Richland Creek) into a constructed, rock lined diversion channel (to allow for culvert construction at Site 5) and were using the silt bag as a way to reduce erosive force of the outlet of a 6" pump hose. They placed the silt bag in the stream channel and were pumping clean water into it. The silt bag was preforming well with no turbidity or scouring. Once the bypass is in operation, turbid water from the dewatered area will be pumped into a sediment basin prior to discharge back to the stream.
