Your suggestions are perfectly reasonable, and are techniques and methods we plan to incorporate (drying the pond sediment, immediate seed/straw/matting, biodegradable netting, etc.). My intent with the large "flat rock" at the outlet was in fact to act as a grade control point in the channel (I just should have labeled and worded it better). We only have an elevation change of — 1' from the existing bottom of pond at the inlet down to the existing bottom of channel at the outlet (— 1% slope). Plus, the channel width at bankfull is only going to be — 2', so we are dealing with a pretty small structure! I have modified and scaled down a typical cross vane design, with rocks keyed into the bank and lined with geotextile. Please see the attached crude drawing/detail to be included as a supplement to our PCN. Thanks again Ron Ronald J.
