Crystal, Kristi and Donna:
Attached you will find a PCN for the 17BP.10.R.13 bridge replacement project in Anson
County. The proposed project would replace an existing timber-decked bridge with a 3
barrel culvert (3 barrels at 7' x 7') on SR 1822 Thomas, or more accurately, Covington-
Thomas Road over N. Fork Jones Creek in Anson County.
The design will keep the existing stream width by utilizing a single 7' x 7' barrel as the
low-flow barrel. Flood plain benches will be constructed to restrict flow to the two
overflow barrels. It should be noted that the consultant who prepared the PCN
indicated that there would not be an increase in impervious area as a result of this
project being constructed. I am not sure that this is totally accurate but any increase in
impervious area would be in the single digits.
We obtained mitigation coverage for 78 linear feet of permanent impacts in 2012
(attached). The length of the proposed culvert is 63 feet.
Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the attached. Charges may be
made to 17BP.10.R.13.
Thank you!
