RE: Refineznent of CAMA Majar Development Permit No. fd-16 {TIP No. B-4929), TopsaiI Sound and
AIVi�W, ReplaGement of Bridge No. 16 on NC-SO/NC-210, Pender Co�nty.
Dear Mr. Herndon:
This letter is in response to a request from the N.C. Department afTranspertatian (NCDOT) dated March 3,
2017, w�ich included two workplan drawings dated March 3, 2017. In the request, I�iCDOT proposes to add
two floating do�ks adjacent ta the work tr�stle at bridge bents 14 and �S. The two flaating tiocks would be 4'
wide x 40' laz�g each, and would be secured in place by twa pipe piles �ach. Acidi�ionaliy, a 7' wide x 26' lang
gangway would lead down from the work trestle to eacY� af the floating docks. The attached workp�an drawings
indicate thai the docks would be placed in areas with water depths o� 6' ar greater at low tide.
Please be advised that through this Letter of Refinement the N.C. I�ivision of Coastal N�anagement {DCM)
conveys it� determination that th� proposed revisions are cans�stent with the existing State's rules and
regulations and are in keeping with the �ri�inal purpose and intent of CAMA Major Permit No. 60-1 C. This
Ietter shall be attached to the original CAMA Major Fermit No. 60-16, which was issued on May 27, 2016, as
w�e11 as the amended permit issu�d on June 2, 2016, and the Minor Modification issued on December 19, 2016,
and copies nf alI documents shall be readily available on sit� when a DCM representative. inspects the project
for compliance. All conditions and stipulat�ons of the active permit remain in force unless altered herein. �his
approval does not eliminate the need to obtain any additianal pezmits, appravals, or authorizations that may be
required.
