The Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority (Authority) requests renewal of NPDES Permit No.
NC0084514, which authorizes discharges to surface waters at the Raleigh-Durham International
Airport (Airport).
In addition to this cover letter, this permit renewal application includes a completed application
form (Short Form C — MI), attachments to Short Form C — MI, and a summary of changes since
issuance of the previous NPDES Permit. An original and two copies of the application are
enclosed.

Summary of Changes since Issuance of Previous Permit
The following changes have occurred since the August 2007 submittal of NPDES Permit
NCO084514
■ Co -Permittees As described in NPDES Short Form C— MI, NPDES Permit NCO084514
includes a number of Co -Permittees in addition to the Raleigh-Durham Airport
Authority The list of NPDES Permit Co -Permittees is updated throughout the Permit
term as tenants change The revised list is included in Attachment A to Short Form C —
MI
■ Terminal 2 The redevelopment and expansion of Terminal C into Terminal 2 was
completed in January 2010 However, drainage from Terminal 2 continues to enter
Drainage Basins 003 and 007 as described in previous permit renewal applications
■ Terminal 1. A Terminal 1 apron replacement project is in design Construction is
anticipated to begin in the second half of 2013 Drainage from Terminal 1 enters
Drainage Basin 001 and 003
■ Aviation Station. Site preparation for future build out at Aviation Station was completed
in 2010 Aviation Station is located in Drainage Basin 035
