Subject: Bishop Road Mitigation Site

Dear Mr. Gilmore,

The Bishop Road site was purchased by NCDOT in the spring of 2001 as a potential
wetland mitigation site. The Bishop Road site consists of approximately 691.7 acres

(279.9 hectares) and is along US 264 at Bishop Road, north of Scranton, in Hyde County,
North Carolina.

Unavoidable impacts from the following roadway projects have been debited from the
Bishop Road ~fitigation Site according to the roadway permit conditions:
1) Division 1 Secondary Road improvements to Montgomery Road Project (SR 1149
and SR 1150) in Hyde County;
2) B-2806 (bridge replacement over Cuckold's Creek) in Beaufort County. 6,340 square
