Tori,
David and I both noticed that your plans seem to indicate that the relocated portion of stream will be at a 10%
slope? That seems pretty steep for what we remember the site looking like? Can you send us a profile of the new
section of stream and if it is going to be very steep we'd like to ask you to consider some sort of step pool system
through that section. In addition you call for the new streambed to be matted and we have not had good experiences
with matting within channels. We prefer to see permanent drop structures/step pool design or maybe a constructed
riffle design and if nothing like these will work then we prefer armoring with riprap over erosion control matting.
David, please add or correct as you see fit.
Thanks,
Sue Homewood
