HomeMy WebLinkAbout20170227 Ver 1_SRTE OFFICE17021623520_20170220January 17, 2016 Wilmington Regulatory Field Office US Army Corps of Engineers 69 Darlington Avenue Wilmington, NC 28403 ATTN: Liz Hair NCDOT Coordinator Dear Madam: Subject: Pre-Construction Notification for proposed replacement of Bridge No. 230126 over Gum Swamp on SR 1005 (Peacock Rd.) in Columbus County The North Cazolina Department of Transporta6on (NCDOT) proposes to replace the existing two span (2 (n; 20'-2") reinforced concrete deck on steel I beam on concrete cap with timber piles and timber abutrnents with a two span (1 @ 45' and 1@ 35'-21") cored slab with 2'-6" caps and sloping abutments. Traffic will follow an offsite detour during construction. Permanent impacts to jwisdictional resources cover approximately 0.04 acres resulting from installation of the new bridge and abutments and movement of a roadside ditch. Temporary wetland impacts totaling 0.05 acres aze due to hand clearing and sediment and erosion control devices. Please see enclosed copies of the Pre-Construction Notification (PCI�, LIBR Spreadsheet, Preliminary Jurisdicrional Determination Form, USACE wetland/upland forms, NCDWR wetland forms, NCDWR sveam forms, USACE stream quality forms, stormwater management plan, and permit drawings for the above-referenced project. This project was let on 6/2/2015. Regulatory Approvals Section 404 Permit: The NCDOT requests that these activiries be authorized under a Nationwide � permit. Section 401 Permit: The NCDOT requests that these acrivities be authorized under Water Quality Certification Number 3883. We anticipate that written approval from the NC Departmern of Water Resources will be required.
