replacement of Bridge No. 379 over UT Reedy Fork on SR
2715; Guilford County; Design Build Project; WBS

Proposed Bridge Replacement Project
The proposed project calls for the replacement of Bridge No. 379 on SR 2715
(Busick Quarry Road) over UT Reedy Fork, in Guilford County. No federally listed
aquatic species have been recorded for Guilford County. UT Reedy Fork Creek is located
in the Cape Fear River Basin, where federally listed Cape Fear Shiner is known to occur.
From the project site, UT Reedy Fork Creek flows 0.34 mile before entering the Reedy
Fork. A map of the project site is attached.
NCDOT Biologist Jared Gray from the Biological Surveys Group did a review of
the North Carolina Natural Heritage Program (NHP) database on December 31, 2013, to
determine if there were any records of listed aquatic species within the proposed project
study area or receiving waters. Furthermore, the nearest record of any federally listed
aquatic species is 37.6 miles away in the Haw River for the Cape Fear Shiner in
Chatham County. Therefore the biological conclusion for the replacement of Bridge No.
379 over UT Reedy Fork is No Effect for any aquatic species.
