General Project Narrative: The project consists of replacing Bridge 400431 on SR 2719 (High Rock Rd) over UT to Reedy Fork. The existing structure consist of precast prestressed concrete channels
(Description of Minimization of Water with a sufficiency rating of 28.62 The proposed structure is a double 11' X 10' cast-in-place reinforced concrete box culvert. The culvert has been sized as to have one barrel
Quality Impacts) match the existing channel to the greatest extent possible and is burried 1.0' below the existing bed and back filled with native stream material. The other barrel will have a sill
and will only allow for high flow. A base ditch will be constructed in the southwest quadrant of the project which runs along SR 2719 and has been widened from a V ditch to a
base ditch because there is an existing grade change in the existing ditch and thus transfers to the proposed ditch in between stations 11+75-L- RT and station 12+00 -L- RT.
The slope of the proposed ditch changes at station 12+75 -L- RT from a slope of 5.8% to slope of 11.7% which is near the culvert inlet and stream and riprap lined. This ditch
follows the lay of the land and the Q2 velocities are 4.2 ft/sec for the grass lined section and 4.0 ft/sec for the riprap lined section. A riprap energy dissapotor has been added at
the outlet of the ditch. The other three quadrants do not have proposed ditches.
