FEB 032017 CENTRAL FILES Ms.Lindsey Speed DWR SECTION Daimler Trucks of North America,LLC 11550 Statesville Boulevard Cleveland,NC 27013 Subject: Monthly Sampling—December 2016 NPDES General Permit No.NCG030000/CoC No.-NCG030039` Daimler Trucks of North America,LLC 11550 Statesville Boulevard,Cleveland,North Carolina Shield Project No. 1140111-04 Dear Ms. Speed: Shield Engineering, Inc. (Shield) was unable to collect stormwater samples at the Cleveland facility for the month of December 2016. According to rainfall data collected for the month, rain events occurred on December 4th, 18`x', 25th and 29th, measuring 0.51 inches, 0.18 inches, 0.04 inches, and 0.17 inches, respectively. An additional 0.28 inches, 0.16 inches, 0.11 inches, 0.02 inches, 0.09 inches, and 0.01 inches of rain were measured on December 5th, 6°', 7`', 8`l', 9th, and 11"', respectively. However, each of these events took place after normal business hours, within 72 hours of the last qualifying storm event,or did not produce enough rainfall to collect a sample. Shield will continue to monitor daily weather conditions and attempt to continue coordination of appropriate staff and resources to facilitate adequate sample collection. Per Section,2 Part IV of General Permit No. NCG030000 Shield will attempt to collect a substitute sample and perform a visual assessment during the next qualifying storm event. A partially completed DMR form is attached to this cover letter for your signature and submittal to the State. Daimler's Cleveland facility remains in Tier Three of the NPDES General Permit No. NCG030000 at SDO#002. The person designated to act as the permittee by Daimler Trucks—Cleveland Facility should complete all "Red" sections of the attached Stormwater Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR). The completed DMR form should then be mailed to the regulatory agency Central Files. Shield greatly appreciates the opportunity to provide environmental services to Daimler Trucks of North America.
