In accordance with the NC Environmental Management Commission Special Order by Consent, EMC SOC
WQ S10-012,Duke Energy Progress, LLC. (Duke) is hereby submitting this Quarterly Progress Report. This
quarterly progress report submittal covers activities and progress for the calendar quarter of July through
September 2015.

(1)Investigations Provide written investigations report Complete-The required investigative
to RRO and Central Office within report was submitted to the Raleigh

was turned over to plant operations on
February 15, 2015. In accordance with the
terms of the SOC, notification of completion
was filed on March 9, 2015.
2. The Dry bottom ash handling system
began construction on December 14, 2012.
As of March 31, 2014, construction the
project is 100%complete. In accordance
with the terms of the SOC, notification of
completion was filed on October 17, 2013.
3. The monofill to be used to receive partial
ZLD conditioned ash began construction on
September 17, 2012. As of December 31,
2014, Phase 1 of the monofill was 100%
complete.
4. Construction of the dry fly ash reliability
project began on June 9, 2014 with the
installation of some initial footers. This
project is approximately 55%complete as •
of September 30, 2015.
