Dear Mr. Smith:
In accordance with item 2.b.(3) of the subject consent order, this letter is intended to provide
notification to your office that construction and commissioning work on the partial ZLD (p-
ZLD) system was completed on February 15, 2015. The p-ZLD has been turned over to the
Mayo Station Operations and Maintenance Organization as of that date.
With the acceptance of the p-ZLD system, the Mayo Plant will begin the process of full
decommissioning of the bioreactor in the near future. Notice of this pending activity for the
Bioreactor was provided to you in our letter of July 10, 2014.
Until the pending NPDES permit renewal is reissued, Duke will continue to submit DMR's for
outfall 009 indicating"no flow" from that outfall. If there are any questions regarding the
enclosed information, please contact Shannon Langley at(919) 546-2439.
I certify, under penalty of law, that this document and all attachments were prepared under my
direction or supervision in accordance with a system designed to assure that qualified personnel
properly gather and evaluate the information submitted. Based on my inquiry of the person or
