Ross Jr., Secretary SUBJECT: modified workplan drawings reflecting changes to docking facility Date: July 8, 2008 Please find attached modifications to the docking facilities at Nature's Own Land Company/Mariners Point in Carteret County. As the attached narrative from Heather Styron indicates, field verification of the channel and water depths was not accurately depicted on the initial workplan drawing circulated for your comment. The attached modified drawings reflect the correct channel location and water depths. Could you please base your review off the attached drawings and provide your comments for the modified proposal to me via email (rich.weaver@ncmail.net) fax (252-247-3330) or mail (400 Commerce Ave, Morehead City, NC 28557) by July 29. Easley, Governor James H. Gregson, Director William G. Ross Jr., Secretary MEMORANDUM: DATE: July 7, 2008 TO: All Review Agencies Thru: Tere Barrett FROM: Heather Styron Subject: Modification to application in process - CAMA Major Permit - Natures Own Land Company/Mariners Point, Carteret County Since the initial submittal for the Mariners Pointe Major modification request it has been found through field verification that the channel edge and centerline were incorrect as were the creek soundings as shown on the initial plats submitted. Please refer to the plats dated revised 6/25/08. The pier and dock have been relocated accordingly. Additionally two slips have been added. The changes are as follows: The new pier would be a total length of 6' x 330.66 with platform dimensions of 6' x 176'. This has moved the pier 11.24' landward of the original proposal. All original finger piers have been deleted from the new proposal with dockage to be "side-to". The outermost part of the structure would be located an average of 4' from the channel edge and an average of 57' from the centerline of the channel. Water depths at the outermost part of the proposed structure are an average of -2.25' at NLW and an average of -2' at NLW around the structure. All soundings have been field verified.
