General The treatment system is an existing 0.010MGD wastewater Treatment facility with the following components: • Septic tank • Dosing tank • Alternating dual surface sand filter • In-ground effluent holding tank This facility is located at West Rowan High School, 8050 NC Highway 801, Mount Ulla, in Rowan County. Discharge from West Rowan High School is received into Withrow Creek, currently classified C waters in the Yadkin-Pee Dee River Basin. 1 • . Annual WW Report 2014 II. Compliance Performance: The North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources (NCDENR) regulate the Rowan-Salisbury Schools effluent discharge under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES). The NCDENR issued to Rowan-Salisbury Schools a NPDES Permit that includes water quality limits and sampling and monitoring requirements. The NPDES permit requires Rowan- Salisbury Schools to test for routine wastewater parameters of the treated water leaving the wastewater facility. The monitoring frequency for these tests is set at various intervals as set forth in the permit. During the year 2014, the number of test conducted met required testing. These tests were performed on the treated wastewater as it was discharged to the creek. There were no spills or bypasses during 2014. For the months of June, July and August there was "No Flow" due to school being out for the summer. 2 • Annual WW Report 2014 III.
