Annual WW Report 2014
Discharge from Knollwood Elementary School wastewater facility is
received into Little Creek in the Yadkin-Pee Dee River Basin, which
are classified C waters.
II. Compliance Performance:
The North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural
Resources (NCDENR) regulate the Rowan-Salisbury Schools effluent
discharge under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System
(NPDES). The NCDENR issued to Rowan-Salisbury Schools a
NPDES Permit that includes water quality limits and sampling and
monitoring requirements. The NPDES permit requires Rowan-
Salisbury Schools to test for routine wastewater parameters of the
treated water leaving the wastewater facility. The monitoring
frequency for these tests is set at various intervals as set forth in the
permit. These tests were performed on the treated wastewater as it
was discharged to the creek.
There were no spills or bypasses in 2014.
