General Project Narrative: The purpose of the project is replacement of a sub-standard bridge with a triple barrel 10' x 6' RCBC. The culvert inverts will be buried 1 ft. and there will be a 2 ft. high concrete

2-YR. RAINFALL EVENT. THE PROPOSED DESIGN WILL RAISE THE ROAD GRADE APPROXIMATELY 2 FT. AT THE BRIDGE AND WILL IMPROVE THE HYDRAULIC LEVEL OF
SERVICE TO 2-YR. EVENT. DUE TO THE STEEP ROADWAY APPROACH GRADES (15.2% AND 5.9%) A CORED SLAB BRIDGE COULD NOT BE USED. IF A CONCRETE GIRDER
BRIDGE WAS USED, THE ROAD GRADE WOULD HAVE TO BE RAISED CONSIDERABLY IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE ADEQUATE FREEBOARD BETWEEN LOW CHORD AND WATER
