Reference the Department of the Army (DA) permit issued on April 22, 2002 to the North
Carolina Department of Transportation to discharge dredged or fill material into 11.96 acres of
wetland, 17,252 linear feet of stream channel and 19.28 acres of open water ponds in and
adjacent to the waters of Paw Creek, Long Creek, Dixon Branch and unnamed tributaries to
facilitate the construction of approximately 8 miles of the North Charlotte Outer Loop Highway
(I-485) from Interstate Highway 85 on''the west to NC Highway 115 (Old Statesville Road) on
the east at Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina (TIP No. R-2248 BB/C/D). Also
reference your written request of November 14, 2007 to extend the expiration date of the permit
to allow for the repair of some of the authorized stream crossings on Section D of the project.
The expiration date of the referenced DA permit is hereby extended to December 31, 2008.
It is understood that all conditions of the original permit remain applicable.
