The treatment process is conventional water treatment and includes coagulation,
flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection before distribution as potable
water.
8. Describe the wastewater and the treatment processes) for wastewater generated by the
facility:
The sedimentation basin residuals and backwash water is discharged to two storage
lagoons. The supernatant is decanted to the discharge and the residuals from the holding
lagoons are allowed to dry. Once the beds are dry, then the Town contracts with Granville
Farms to dispose of the residuals.

Sludge Management Plan
The Town of Yanceyville operates a Water Treatment Plant and the filter backwash water and
sedimentation basin residuals are sent to sludge holding lagoons. The clear water is decanted
and discharged to Fuller's Creek. Once there are enough residuals in the lagoon to haul, the
residuals are land applied by Granville Farms in accordance with the Town's land application

The Water Quality Permitting Section acknowledges receipt of your permit application and
supporting documentation received on December 15, 2016. The primary reviewer for this renewal
application is Meredith Wojcik.
The primary reviewer will review your application, and she will contact you if additional
information is required to complete your permit renewal. Per G.S. 150B-3 your current permit
does not expire until permit decision on the application is made. Continuation of the current permit
is contingent on timely and sufficient application for renewal of the current permit.
