I filled in the BIMS staff report on this one today. Although their report implies
that the stream will have a bedrock bottom, and it may, I still think there is huge
potential for a big time head cut. The existing conditions downstream of the dam
include a fairly braided channel at low flow, with a sandy bottom.
The report acknowledges that riffle/pools will eventually included with the next
phase. Do we want to wait that long as the stream degrades?
please let me know what you think on this.
