am writing to to urge the NorthCarolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources to deny Alcoa's application for a
stormwater permit (#NC0004308)to discharge contaminated groundwater into Badim Lake and Little Mountain Creek. These
discharges contain cyanide and other hazardous substances. Alcoa should be required to clean up this old, leaking landfill-not
be allowed to continue untreated discharges! The permit would be in violation of the Clean Water Act and should be denied in
order to protect our water resources from contamination.
