This permit modification documents the change in ownership. Hollingsworth should be aware that the current permit is designed for the treatment of non-contact cooling water,sanitary wastewater,and boiler blow-down. At the time of the previous application there were no operations in place for treatment of textile wastewater. If the facility plans to re-start industrial operations,a modified permit application must be submitted describing the operations. Please contact Susan Wilson of the Point Source Branch and/or David Russell at the Division's Regional Office at(336) 771-4600. Please find enclosed the revised permit. All other terms and conditions contained in the original permit remain unchanged and in full effect. This permit modification is issued under the requirements of North Carolina General Statutes 143-215.1 and the Memorandum of Agreement between North Carolina and the U.S.Environmental Protection Agency. (1.) EFFLUENT LIMITATIONS AND MONITORING REQUIREMENTS During the period beginning on the effective date of the permit and lasting until expiration,the Permittee is authorized to discharge non-contact cooling water,boiler blowdown and domestic wastewater from outfall 001. Upstream= at least 50 feet upstream from the outfall. Downstream=at Highway 700. Upstream and Downstream samples shall be grab samples. 2. The pH of the effluent shall not be less than 6.0 nor greater than 9.0 (on the standard units scale). 3. Monitoring is required only if chlorine is added to the treatment system. 4. The temperature of the effluent shall not cause an increase in the temperature of the receiving stream of more than 2.8 °C and in no case cause the ambient water temperature to exceed 32°C. There shall be no discharge of floating solids or visible foam in other than trace amounts. Permit NC0001643 A. (Z.)
