Carolina. L.V. Sutton Steam Plant, NPDES Permit No. NC0001422.
Dear Mr Sideris,
Thank you for providing the DWQ with updates on Progress Energy Carolinas Inc. fish tissue
monitoring efforts in the vicinity of the Sutton Steam Electric Plant in New Hanover County.
The Environmental Sciences Section has reviewed the Progress Energy report on the 2007 Selenium
Monitoring of Fish in the Cape Fear River, dated January 2008. We are pleased to know that selenium
concentrations in fish surrounding the Sutton Steam Plant outfall remain below the state's action level of
10 ppm.
Please feel free to contact Jeff DeBerardinis at 919-743-8517 or ieff.deberardinis a(ncmail.net
with any questions or comments regarding contaminants in fish tissue.
Sincerely,
