NOTICE OF A DESIGN PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE PROPOSED
US 76 (OLEANDER DRIVE) AND NC 132 (COLLEGE ROAD) INTERSECTION
IMPROVEMENTS IN WILMINGTON
TIP Project No. U-4718
New Hanover County
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will hold a Pre-
Hearing Open House and a Design Public Hearing on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at
Roland-Grise Middle School located at 4412 Lake Avenue, Wilmington.
NCDOT representatives will be available at the Pre-Hearing Open House, in the
Cafeteria, between the hours of 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to answer questions and
receive comments relative to the proposed project. The opportunity to submit written
comments or questions will also be provided. Interested citizens may attend at any time
during the above mentioned hours.
A formal presentation will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Auditorium. The presentation
will consist of an explanation of the proposed location, design, the state - federal
relationship, and right of way and relocation requirements and procedures. The hearing
will be open to those present for statements, questions and comments. The
presentation and comments will be recorded and a transcript will be prepared.
NCDOT proposes intersection improvements to reduce congestion and improve
safety along NC 132 (College Road) from US 117 (Ship and Boulevard) to SR 2313
(Wilshire Avenue) and US 76 (Oleander Drive) from 41s Street to Pine Grove Drive,
specifically addressing congestion at the intersection of NC 132 (College Road) and US
76 (Oleander Drive).
A map displaying the location and design of the project and a copy of the
environmental document - Categorical Exclusion (CE) - is available for public review at
the City of Wilmington Planning Department located at 305 Chestnut Street - 3Id Floor,
Tower, Wilmington and at the NCDOT Division Office located at 124 Division Drive,
Wilmington. The map may also be viewed online at www.wmpo.org.

August 29, 2008.
NCDOT will. provide auxiliary aids and services under the Americans with

arrangements can be made.
