REQUEST FOR MORE INFORMATION
Dear Mr. White:
On January 4, 2008, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your application dated October 26,
2007, to impact 4.44 acres of non-vegetated wetlands (open water) and 0.05 acres of vegetated wetlands
to perform maintenance and new excavation, to construct a bulkhead, docking facility, dry-storage
facility, parking areas, and an entrance road. Additional information was received by the DWQ on May
14, 2008. The DWQ has determined that your application was incomplete and/or provided inaccurate
information as discussed below. The DWQ will require additional information in order to process your
application to impact protected wetlands and/or waters on the subject property. Therefore unless we
receive five copies of the additional information requested below at the DWQ central office, we will
have to recommend moving towards denial of your application as required by 15A NCAC 2H .0506 and
will place this project on hold as incomplete until we receive this additional information. Please provide
the following information so that we may continue to review your project.
Additional Information Requested:
According to the soil delineation information submitted with the application on May 14, 2008,
the two buildings shown on "exhibit 9" of the plans appear to be located in the same location as
the areas of soil contamination. Describe the precautions that will be taken to protect surface
waters during construction of the project and the disposal/treatment plan for these locations.
2. Submit plans for the revisions to the harbor and channel line per the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers. Submit a copy of the revised plans to Robb Mairs of the Division of Coastal
Management as well.
