The Division has determined that your application is incomplete and cannot be processed. The application is on hold until all of the following items are addressed: \[15A NCAC 02H .0507 (c)\] 1.Please redesign the boulder wall to incorporate class B rip-rap below the full pool elevation in accordance with Duke Energy Shoreline Management Guidelines. I have attached an example for reference (Dry stack Boulder Wall Detail) . 1 2.After reviewing the submitted application, the included pictures do not show the need for bank stabilization. Please include photographs of the shoreline/buffer with active erosion. Include a scale of some sort whether that is a yard stick, shovel, etc… Please redesign the project to stabilize areas that have active eroding banks greater than 3 feet in height. 3.The application states that there will be 1,200 square feet of disturbance above the normal pool lake level. The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission recommends retaining as many shoreline trees and shrubs as possible to serve as wildlife habitat. Please redesign the project to minimize this impact and illustrate the amount of disturbance on page 3 of the shoreline application (provide dimensions, such as 10x100). I have included a link to the shoreline stabilization help document. Also, indicate the number of trees to be removed. Shoreline Stabilization Help Document (formerly posted as "A Lake Dweller's Guide to the 401 Water Quality Certification Process") Pursuant to Title 15A NCAC 02H .0502(c), the applicant shall furnish all of the above requested information for the proper consideration of the application. If all of the requested information is not received by February 9, 2017, the Division will be unable to approve the application and it will be returned. The return of this project will necessitate reapplication to the Division for approval, including a complete application package and the appropriate fee.
