The original questions/requests are copied below as they appear within letter and are then followed by our response. Additional Information Requested: Diffuse Flow: a. The outflow calculations for FES 1A indicate a pipe outlet velocity of 9.78 fps. It is agreed that the outlet is sufficiently protected but the velocity of flow is likely to be erosive even after leaving the dissipater pads. We recommend that a further slowing down of the water is required by installing a plunge pool of 1' minimum depth and sufficient length, width and slope at the end of the pipe instead of a flat dissipater pad. Please see attached rip rap lined plunge pool calculations, design and revised Storm Drainage Plan (SW-2), Grading Plan (SW-3), Stormwater Management Details (SW-4) and Level Spreader & Details (SW-5) Maps. We anticipate that this answers all of the DWQ's questions in order to complete the final review process requested for the written Riparian Buffer Authorization. If you have any further questions or any additional explanation is needed, please don't hesitate to call.
