County. So, as long as changes are approved by Charles Pender, Novo Nordisk would be in compliance with the

Just as a follow up to the email below, I just wanted to provide some additional information. DOT is
requesting we remove our double row of silt fence in order to start work along the wetlands where their
bridge will tie into our road. Their sedimentation and erosion control plan does not include a double row
of silt fence; ours does. They have a single row of fence and two swales on our site side. Charles Pend
Johnston County visited the site Friday to be a part of the discussion regarding the DOT's plan for startin
work in the area. Charles Pender was going to contact you to discuss the situation on the project
site. Novo's concern is that we remain in operational compliance and provide the necessary protection f
the wetlands. The suggestion was made to have DOT remove our fence in increments as the work I

Good afternoon Jennifer -
I met with DOT regarding the referenced certificate. With us sharing the State issued permit, I wanted to
make sure that their erosion control, specifically the use of a single wall silt fence coupled with swales met
the requirements. Condition #35 in the permit states that the plans and specifications for this project are
incorporated by reference, but doesn't indicate whether it's DOT's or Novo's plans & specifications. Our
plans and specifications reference a double row of silt fence along the wetlands. Since DOT's contractor
has not installed the double row of fence, I wanted to touch base to be sure that their erosion control
devices are acceptable in lieu of the double row of fence.
