She told me not to cut anything over four inches in diameter and that the land belonged to the City of Raleigh. I did not get a survey or receive any information about the area on the lake at closing. However, the area had been previously cleared when I purchased the property two years ago. The house is currently being remodeled and I had a landscaper clean out some underbrush to help control snakes and try to clean the walking path. My neighbors were doing the same thing. I don't know what else you could be referring to. I am not aware of any trees being removed while I have owned the property. I was told that we could fish, use paddle boats, kayaks etc. in the lake. Is that true? I would like to know if I may cut out the underbrush (mostly briars) and install some of the approved grasses in your guidelines packet? Is there something I can put down to keep the area clear on (what I was told was) the public walking path, to keep it from growing up? Is there really a right away for the walking path? Can the state do anything to help control the poisonous water snakes? I am just an ordinary tax paying citizen with children and a dog. I will be glad to meet with you on the property to see and discuss what accusations are being made. Also, I will order a survey for the property. It really seems that information should have to be properly disclosed at closing with any property that is bordering a protected area.
