This notice is available electronically at. I. Public Notice; Water Quality Certification for Eagle Island Dike Improvements; DWR #2016-0804; Wilmington, New Hanover County PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District (69 Darlington Ave., Wilmington, NC 28403) has applied to the North Carolina Division of Water Resources (DWR) for a 401 Water Quality Certification, pursuant to Section 401 of the Federal Clean Water Act and Title 15A North Carolina Administrative Code 02H .0500. The activity for which this certification is sought is to permanently impact 35.5 acres of jurisdictional wetlands to construct a toe berm around the existing Eagle Island dike to raise it to an elevation of 50 feet. The DWR must take final action on the application prior to January 16, 2017. The public is invited to comment in writing to the DWR on the application described above. Comments should be mailed to the NC Division of Water Resources, Attn: Jennifer Burdette, 1617 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, NC 27699-1617, faxed to 919-807-6394, or emailed to jennifer.burdette@ncdenr.gov. Comments must be received by DWR no later than close of business on January 3, 2017. A copy of the application is available online at htt ://e ocs. eg.nc. ov/ ater esources/OJfol/400191/ owl.as x. A copy of the application is also on file at the DWR Central Office. The application may be inspected with an appointment during normal business hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) at 512 N.
