The existing bridge consists of 1@ (Description of Minimization of Water 17' - 3", 1@ 17'-0", and 1@ 18' - 0" Reinforeced concrete deck spans on timber joists and is to be replaced with a 1@ 30' - 0", 1@ 40' - 0" and 1@ 30' - 0", 21" cored slab Quality Impacts) bridge (100' total length, 33' total width) north (upstream) of the existing bridge. In accorance with Tar-Pamlico River Buffer Regulations, the proposed bridge does not contain deck drains, all stormwater from the bridge and approches will be collected by a concrete flume and discharged into a class 'B' Rip-Rap pad within the proposed special lateral 'V' ditch at -L- 22+64 RT . Proposed ditch in the northwest quadrant is replaced with 3:1 front and back slopes which transition to a variable width base ditch to replicate existing drainage patterns. The proposed ditch in the northeast quadrant is replaced with 3:1 front and back slopes and ties to existing ditchs that dissipate prior to tying to Acre Swamp. Proposed ditch in the southeast quadrant is replaced with 3:1 front and back slopes and is tied to the existing ditch prior to joining Acre Swamp.
