Documentation re: Advance Notification of Hydroelectric Unit Repairs at Lookout
Shoals Development
Thanks for responding to the previous e-mail. This e-mail is to advise we have extended the outage to retain its original
scope and the new projected completion date is February 3, 2017. Duke Energy will continue its original pulsing plan for
the duration of the outage.
Once again I ask for you to please advise if any additional consultation is required as a result of this extension. When I
have heard from you, I’ll notify the FERC, including your responses. I have to advise the FERC of this new date and
request an extension of the January 7, 2017, report date they ordered on December 5.
Thanks again for your action on this second request. Merry Christmas.

of Hydroelectric Unit Repairs at Lookout Shoals Development
We have just learned bearing damage on the Junior Unit A is worse than anticipated, including a crack on the flange of
the bearing and significant corrosion in the slots of the bearing. More extensive repairs are required, which will extend
this maintenance outage until January 19, 2017. Duke Energy will continue its pulsing plan for the duration of the
outage.
I have to advise the FERC of this new date and request an extension of the January 7, 2017, report date they ordered on
December 5. Please advise at your earliest convenience if any additional consultation is required as a result of this
outage extension.
