Subject:RE: 404 and 401 permit application for Br no 188 in Rowan
We do not object to the permit application for this project. We do want to mention that the high flow barrel should have smaller rock mixed with the riprap to fill in the voids and provide
a relatively flat surface for
wildlife passage. Also materials used for backfilling that are excavated from the stream and floodplain should not contain soil and fines that will contribute to sedimentation. These
two recommendations should apply
to all culvert projects.
