Thanks for the reply. I believe the Town has finalized their determination (see attached). Their 30 day window for
appeals has passed. However, we are going to appeal regardless at this time. We are hoping to expand the northern
pond on the site as it was constructed in 2006-07 for stormwater control for a previous expansion. Unfortunately, the
Town's stream call has made this virtually impossible based on the allowable activities within the buffer. Is this the
information that you need?
As mentioned, we are meeting the USACE on site Wednesday (11/2) at 10:00 am. It would be great if someone from DWR
could meet at that time so we are all on the same page. However, I certainly understand that this is very short notice. If
you have any more questions or need more information, just let me know. Thanks again for the help.

Mr. Royster-
I spoke with Jennifer Burdette and understand the situation a little better. Chapel Hill does have an internal
review process to review their stream calls before they are final and can be appealed to the state, so please
send your request to the Town for their final decision.
After you receive the Town's final decision, if you still wish to appeal to the state, then you'll send that request
to me. Please include all the paper work from the Town with your request.

Sara and Karen,
We've been discussing a project at the Montessori Community School (in Chapel Hill's
town limits in Durham County) with Cherri Smith. Based on our conversations, the next
step is to get a stream determination performed on the site. I've attached the request as
well as the USGS and Soils maps for the site. We have a meeting scheduled with
Samantha Dailey with USACE next Wednesday (11/2) at 10:00 am. If possible, it would be
great if someone from DEQ could meet us at the site. However, I understand that this is
relatively short notice and would understand if this is not possible. If you have any
questions or need any more information, just let me know. Thanks.
