NOTICE OF A CITIZENS INFORMATIONAL WORKSHOP FOR THE
PROPOSED WIDENING OF SR 1472 (VILLAGE ROAD) FROM SR 1435
(SOUTH NAVASSA ROAD) TO SR 1438 (LANVALE ROAD) IN LELAND

Brunswick County
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) has
scheduled a Citizens Informational Workshop on Tuesday, June 17, 2008, from
4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Leland Senior Center Community Building, 1490
Village Road NE, Leland, 28451. The purpose and need of the Village Road
widening project will be presented. The public is invited to attend the workshop
between the scheduled times. NCDOT representatives will be available to
answer questions and receive comments.
This project proposes to widen and upgrade Village Road from SR 1435
(South Navassa Road) to either Lanvale Road (SR 1438) or Mount Misery Road
(SR 1478). The NCDOT is proposing a four-lane divided highway with a 23-foot
raised median. The inside lanes will be 12-feet wide, while the outside lanes will
be 14-feet wide to accommodate bicycles. Three alternatives are being
considered to tie the project in from the CSX Railroad Crossing to Lanvale Road/
Mount Misery Road .

NCDOT will provide auxiliary aids and services under the Americans with

so that arrangements can be made.
