SUBJECT: UT to Bull Run (Sites 14 and 22) Stream Mitigation Site, State Project No.
6.549009T, TIP No. R-2417BA, DWQ Project No. 001432, Lee County
Dear Mr. Griffin:
This correspondence is in reference to your letter dated May 5, 2008, regarding the UT to Bull Run
Mitigation Site located in Lee County. This site is being utilized by the North Carolina Department of
Transportation as compensatory mitigation for the road construction of R-2417BA, the US 421/NC 87
Sanford Bypass.
DWQ staff conducted a site visit on May 27, 2008, to verify compliance with the mitigation
requirements identified in the permit. During the site visit, staff noted that the site was well vegetated
with native species and that the proper hydrology was present.
By copy of this letter, we are notifying you that no further monitoring of the site will be required since
the construction and success criteria for the mitigation site have been met.
