RE: Letter of Refinement, CAMA Major Development Permit No. 38-02, Stumpy Point Ferry
Terminal, Dare County.
Dear Mr. Winslow:
This letter is in response to the N.C. Department of Transportation's (NCDOT's) letter dated
03/03/2008 requesting a refinement of CAMA Major Permit No. 38-02. NCDOT is requesting
to add an additional 10' in length by 6' wide to the boardwalk landward over high ground and
install a gate at the end of the ramp within the existing chain link fence.
Please be advised that through this Letter of Refinement, The Division of Coastal Management
(DCM) conveys its determination that the above referenced request is consistent with existing
State rules and regulations and is in keeping with the original purpose and intent of CAMA
Permit No. 38-02 , so long as the following conditions are adhered to:
This Letter of Refinement does not eliminate the need to obtain any additional state,
federal or local permits, approvals or authorizations that may be required.
2. This Letter of Refinement shall be attached to the original of CAMA Permit No. 38-
02, which was issued on 4/2/02, along with the amendment issued on 6/5/02 and
1/18/06, and all documents shall be readily available on site when a DCM
representative inspects the project for compliance.
All conditions and stipulations of the active permit remain in force under this Letter
of Refinement unless altered herein.
