The existing structure is a single span (Description of Minimization of Water (1 @1 S'-3"). The proposed structure will be 2@8'X8' RCBC with one low flow barrel and one high flow barrel. The low flow barrel will be buried 1' below the existing stream bed Quality Impacts) elevation and will be backfilled with native material excavated from the stream at the project site during construction. The high flow barrel will be set at the same invert elevation as the low flow barrel, but will have an additional 1' sill to help maintain the existing channel width during low flow events. The high flow barrel will be backfilled with native material and supplemented with rip rap as determined by the Engineer. If rip rap is used to supplement, then native material is to be placed on top of supplemented rip rap to provide a flat surface for animal passage. To accommodate the additional width from the high flow barrel, a flood bench is proposed to help maintain the existing low flow channel and provide conveyance through the culverts during high flow events. The flood bench is to be lined with coir fiber matting and the banks will be stabilized by laying the banks back at a 1.5:1 slope lined with Class II Rip Rap and geotextile. All existing ditches are being left in place and are stable with non-erosive velocities. Toe protection is being used in areas where the toe of fill intersects the ditch point. All outfalls are outside of buffers.
