Tar-Pamlico River Riparian Buffer Authorization, Issued 1/7/08
As you are aware, the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) proposes to replace
existing Bridge No. 8 on SR 1403 and SR 1567 over Tranters Creek in Beaufort and Pitt Counties.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has issued Nationwide 12 Permit, in addition to the Nationwide
23 and 33 Permits. We anticipate 401 Water Quality General Certification number 3699 will be
applicable, however we are not requesting written approval due to issuance of the above referenced
General Certifications and Tar-Pamlico River Riparian Buffer Authorization. Therefore, we are
providing a revised Pre-construction Notification (page 1).
